Women's Swimming Swept in Tri-Meet

CHESTER, Pa. - The Hood College women's swim team fell to both Messiah and Widener in a tri-meet hosted by the Pride. 


  • Messiah defeated Hood 200-43
  • Widener defeated Hood 207-40

How it Happened

  • Brianna Hand-Solomon and Kate Sanborn each had three top-five finishes highlighted by runner-up efforts. 
  • Hand-Solomon was second in the 100-yard backstroke in 1:02.95. She also took fourth in the 500 freestyle in 5:52.36 and fifth in the 100 free in 58.64.
  • Sanborn placed second in the 200 breaststroke with a time of 2:42.74. The sophomore was fourth in the 100 breaststroke in 1:15.25 and fifth in the 1000 free in 12:33.33.


  • Messiah edged Widener 138-123.
