Women's swimming wraps up action at Diamond City Invitational

WILKES-BARRE, Pa. - The Hood College women's swim team took finished the final session in eighth place at the Diamond City Invitational at the Wyoming Valley Catholic Youth Center, hosted by King's College. 

How it Happened

  • Danielle Pong's sixth-place finish in the 200-yard breaststroke led the Blazers. She touched the wall in 2:37.23. 
  • In the 200 backstroke, Ann Coleman and Brianna Hand-Solomon turned in top-10 finishes. Coleman placed eighth, outreaching Hand-Solomon by seven-hundredths of a second. Coleman's 2:20.02 was one place ahead of Hand-Solomon's 2:20.09. 
  • Kate Sanborn swam a time of 2:41.60 to take ninth in the 200 breaststroke. 
  • Olivia McGhee's 2:38.01 was ninth in the 200 butterfly. 
  • Hood's 400 freestyle relay of Mandy Smith, McGhee, Hand-Solomon and Pong was ninth in 4:05.98. 

Notes

  • The Blazers' 208 points were eighth. 
  • Scranton as the team champion with 658 points.
