FREDERICK, Md.--Sophomore team captain Christine Ocampos-Barry of the Hood College women's tennis team earned Atlantic Women's Colleges Conference Player of the Week honors for the week ending April 15.

The native of Bowie, Md., was a perfect 4-0 in a pair of league matches last week, downing her opponents from Wilson College and Chatham College in straight sets at first singles.

Ocampos-Barry teamed with Laura Wanner at second doubles to upend Ruthie Gant and Lyndsay Smith of Wilson, 8-0. That duo also knocked off Melanie Ceraso and Liz Moritz of Wilson, 8-1.

For the season, Ocampos-Barry owns a 4-9 singles record and shows a 6-6 mark in doubles play.

The Blazers (7-10, 3-0 AWCC) have one dual match remaining Thursday against Trinity University at 4 p.m. The AWCC tournament is scheduled for April 28-29 at the College of Notre Dame (Md.).
