FREDERICK, Md.--The Hood College women's tennis team ended their season with a 7-6 record following a 7-2 win against Trinity University (D.C.) Thursday at the Baker Park Tennis Courts.

In the singles competition, Hood's Christine Ocampos-Barry defeated Zulema Ramirez, while Stephanie Garrett bested Vicky Gregg, Larisa Buriak downed Haymanot Yalewayker, Caitlin Erickson upended Paola Flores and Laura Wanner topped Cynthia Reyes. Hood's only loss in the singles competition was due to a forfeit at the No. 6 spot.

In the doubles competition, Ocampos-Barry and Wanner teamed up to defeat Ramirez and Gregg at the No. 1 spot. In second doubles, Stephanie Garrett and Caitlin Erickson defeated Trinity's Yalewayker and Philogene.

For the season, Stephanie Garrett led the team in singles competition, ending with a 9-3 record. She was followed by Laura Wanner (7-4), Caitlin Erickson (6-7) and Morgan Wright (5-6). In doubles, Larisa Buriak and Christine Ocampos-Barry led the team with a 6-4 record. They were followed by Wanner/Wright (4-4) and Erickson/Garrett (4-7), respectively.
