Parrish, Stanley, Hamor Named All-Conference in Women's Track & Field

FREDERICK, Md.--Hood College senior Jessica Parrish won four events at the 2009 Capital Athletic Conference track and field championships to capture the 2009 CAC women’s track & field athlete of the year award.

Parrish, who was the 2008 CAC Rookie of the Year, repeated her gold medal performance of a year ago in the 100-meter dash with a NCAA provisional qualifying and CAC record time of 12.29 seconds. The Baltimore native also won the 200-meter dash (26.14), long jump (16' 3.75") and triple jump (35' 10.75"), to help Hood finish fourth in the overall team standings.

Hood juniors Erica Hamor and Jessica Stanley joined Parrish on the all-CAC team, both as second team selections. Hamor finished second in the javelin with a toss of 104' 7", while Stanley was the runner-up in the 400 meters with a clocking of 1:00.93. Both marks set school records.

On the men’s side, freshman Chris Digangi was named to the all-CAC first team after finishing first in the pole vault competition, clearing 14' 1 3/4". In doing so, DiGangi captured Hood’s first men’s track and field individual championship in school history.
