Jessica Parrish Qualifies for NCAA Championship in 100 Meters

FREDERICK, Md.--Senior Jessica Parrish of the Hood College women's track and field team will be one of 21 Division III runners competing for the national title in the 100 meter dash Friday at the NCAA championships hosted by Marietta College in Marietta, Ohio.
Parrish earned a provisional qualifying time with her Capital Athletic Conference record-setting clocking of 12.29 at the conference meet back on April 18. That mark, which broke an 11-year old CAC record, held up as one of the top 21 times in NCAA Division III this season.
The native of Baltimore, Md., will compete in the third heat of Friday's 100 meter dash, which begins at 4:25 p.m.
Parrish is the first Hood student-athlete to qualify for the NCAA championship in any sport as an individual. She is also one of six CAC student-athletes to make the trek to Marietta for the outdoor track & field nationals.
Results from the NCAA championships will be posted on Marietta's website. To view a list of the qualifiers for the 100 meter dash, click here.
