Mangogna places second in heptathlon with school record at MAC Championships

ANNVILLE, Pa. - Hood College's Jackie Mangogna finished second in the heptathlon with a school record to lead the Blazers on the first full day of competition at the Middle Atlantic Conference Championships at Widener University. 

How it Happened

  • Mangogna scored 3,828 points to break Sophie Grizzle's school record of 3,765. Mangogna finished second in the event to Stevenson's Rachel Panek, who scored 4,299. 
  • Danielle Pitts had a personal best in the hammer throw with a heave of 33.72 meters (110-7). Samantha Bailey was just outside the scoring in the hammer at 38.46 meters (126-2).

Notes

  • Hood is tied for eighth with eight points. 
  • Stevenson leads the pack with 62 points.
