Gettysburg Upends Hood Volleyball in Season Opener

GETTYSBURG, Pa.--The Gettysburg College volleyball team (2-0) defeated Hood College (0-1), 3-0 (25-11, 25-8, 25-5), Wednesday in a nonconference match.

Freshman Brittany Lethbridge put down a pair of kills in her Blazer debut while Brittany Tribett set up three Hood kills and posted four digs. Chelsea Weaver, who is transitioning to the libero position this fall, registered a match-high nine digs to lead the defense.

Gettysburg's Kristina Mercier boasted a .900 hitting percentage, tallying nine kills on 10 attempts, to lead the Bullets to the victory.

Hood looks to rebound Tuesday at Shenandoah University at 6 p.m.
