Volleyball closes out 2018 season

OWINGS MILLS, Md. - The Hood College volleyball team fell in three sets at Stevenson in a Middle Atlantic Conference Commonwealth contest.

How it Happened

  • Hood struggled with its hitting in the first two sets with more errors than kills in both stanzas as the Mustangs took a 2-0 lead in the match. 
  • The third set featured 12 ties as the two teams battled back and forth. The Blazers took the lead three times late in the frame. An ace by Belella made it 22-21, a Stevenson error made it 23-22 and a kill from Zinaich gave Hood set point at 24-23. Stevenson regrouped and won the last three points to close out the match. 

Notes

  • Katie Leftridge had a match-high 15 kills, while Moriah Savage added 10. 
  • Hood finished the year 13-15.
