Women's Cross Country Concludes Slate at NCAA Mid-East Regional


BETHLEHEM, Pa.--Junior Danielle Sgro ran the fastest NCAA regional time in program history Saturday with a clocking of 24:03 to lead the Hood College women's cross country team to a 33rd place finish at the NCAA Mid-East Regional.

Hood's combined time of 2:13.37 was its second-fastest ever at the regional. Senior Sara Stiles (27:22) and freshman Lauren Smith (24:35) both ran personal records. Smith's time was just two seconds off Sgro's freshman record.

Junior Katie Thomas finished the race in 28:11 while sophomore Lisa Blickenstaff registered a time of 29:27. Sophomore Jen Willison (30:17) and junior Adrienne Cornett (37:14) rounded out the Hood contingent.

Dickinson won the regional with a combined time of 1:51:19 and had four runners in the top 11.

The women's cross country team has concluded its fall slate for 2007.
