FREDERICKSBURG, Va.--Freshman Mike Gallion scored twice for the
Hood College men's lacrosse team (1-9, 0-4 CAC) in a 13-5 Capital
Athletic Conference loss to the University of Mary Washington (7-4,
1-3 CAC) Saturday afternoon.
The Eagles scored the first three goals of the contest before
Gallion's first score got the Blazers on the board with 5:58 left
in the first quarter. Nick Spicer was credited with his second
assist of the season on the goal.
Mary Washington outscored Hood 6-1 in the second quarter to
assume a 9-2 lead at halftime. Kris Miner netted his 13th goal of
the season on a man-up opportunity in the final minute of the
second quarter.
After a scoreless third quarter for Hood, Sofiane Lazar, Nick
Spicer and Gallion all found the back of the net in the fourth
period.
Nick O'Brien tallied 12 saves in defeat while Hector Montoya won
10 of the game's 21 face-offs.
The Eagles got their scoring from a variety of sources as 12
different players netted goals on the day.
Hood continues CAC action Monday hosting York College (Pa.) at 4
p.m.
