ANNVILLE, Pa. - Hood College's Jordan Patterson was named the Middle Atlantic Conference Commonwealth Pitcher of the Week for his performance on the Blazers' spring break trip to Florida.
He finished the week pitching 10 innings, striking out 16 batters and walking none with a 0.90 ERA. Patterson was impressive on March 8 in a pair of 13 inning games for the Blazers. In a 6-2 (13-inning) win over PSU Behrend, Patterson pitched seven innings in relief and did not allow a run or a walk. The senior allowed two hits and struck out nine batters to earn the win. Patterson, in the same day, came in as relief in a 4-3 (13 inning) win over SUNY Maritime and allowed just one hit and struck out four batters in two innings of work. Patterson opened the week allowing just two hits and striking out three in a setback to Eastern Nazarene.
The baseball team will take a 7-2 record into its game at nationally ranked Salisbury on Tuesday, March 12.
