Baker takes first-round lead at MAC Commonwealth Championships

HERSHEY, Pa. - Hood College's Andy Baker shot a 74 to take a two-stroke lead after the first round of the Middle Atlantic Conference Commonwealth Championships on the Hershey Country Club's East Course. 

How it Happened

  • Baker is two shots ahead of a trio of golfers on the par-71, 6,526-yard course. It is tied for the third-best round in school history. 
  • Andrew Heon is tied for 14th after a round of 82. 
  • Kyle Moir is in the top 20 after shooting an 85 to tie for 19th. 
  • Michael Bushman's 88 is 29th. 
  • Jon Knehans rounded out the Hood five with a 90 to tie for 33rd. 


  • Arcadia's Kyle Henofer, Keith Noonan of Alvernia and Matthew Shur of Stevenson are the three golfers tied for second with rounds of 76. 
  • Stevenson leads the team scoring with a 317, six strokes ahead of Lebanon Valley. 
  • Hood sits in fifth with a 329.
