Men's cross country opens season

STEVENSON, Md. - Hood College's Zach Crossey placed ninth to lead the Blazers in their season-opening meet at the Mustang Stampede, hosted by Stevenson. 

How it Happened

  • Crossey finished the 4,000-meter course with a time of 13:38.20. 
  • Chris Burgenson finished 15th in 14:30.51. 
  • Keegan Bello ran a time of 15:05.16, good for 24th place. 
  • Reese Whitesell covered the distance in 15:25.75 to claim 33rd. 
  • Frederick Roberts made his college debut and finished with a time of 16:06.60. 


  • The Blazers were fourth in the team scoring with 82 points. 
  • Stevenson defended its home course with 18 points,  including the winning time of 12:37.97 by Langston Gash. 


  • Chris Benassi: "I'm really proud of our effort on the course today to open up our season. Our team went out there and competed hard and beat some people."
