Warriors take down women's soccer

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. - Two second-half goals from the Warriors of Lycoming were too much for the Hood College women's soccer team as they dropped their last regular season match 2-1.

How it Happened

  • The first goal was scored in the 52nd minute after Jayden Leighow slotted a ball across the box to Elle Sarracco who put the Warriors up 1-0.
  • Lycoming's Bailey Gilmore doubled the lead when she dribbled through Hood's defense and chipped the ball over the keeper to the far post in the 56th.
  • Jordan Bailey's header pulled one back for the Blazers as they trailed 2-1 with 25 minutes to play.
  • The Blazers had the opportunity to tie the game when Jasmine Mangle played through to Scarborough whose effort went just high in the 90th minute

  • Jess Riordan stopped three shots for Lycoming.
  • Hood is now 11-7-2 overall, and 3-4-1 in the conference.
  • Lycoming improves to 10-8-1 overall and 3-5 in the league.
