Women's swimming falls in tri-meet

CHESTER, Pa. - The Hood College women's swim team fell to both Widener and Messiah in a Middle Atlantic Conference tri-meet hosted by the Pride. 

How it Happened

  • Danielle Pong had three top-three finishes. She was second in both the 200-yard breaststroke and the 200 individual medley. She turned in a 2:36.58 in the 200 breaststroke and a 2:20.43 in the individual medley. Pong added a third-place finish in the 50 freestyle with her time of 25.89.
  • Brianna Hand-Solomon touched the wall in the 100 backstroke in 1:03.28 for second place. She was fourth in the 100 free in 57.39.  
  • Kate Sanborn took fourth place in both breaststroke events. She swam the 100 in 1:13.68 and the 200 in 2:43.68.
  • The 200 medley relay of Hand-Solomon, Pong, Olivia McGhee and Ann Coleman swam a 1:57.08 for third place. 


  • Widener defeated Hood 185-69.
  • Messiah defeated Hood 192-58.
  • Messiah defeated Widener 158-103.
