Pitts turns in strong effort at Little Dip Invitational

LANCASTER, Pa. - Hood College's Danielle Pitts placed fifth in the weight throw to lead the women's indoor track and field team at the Little Dip Invitational at Franklin & Marshall.

How it Happened

  • Pitts had a best heave of 38-2 3/4 (11.65 meters) in the weight to get her into the top five.
  • Hood's 4x200-meter relay was seventh in 2:01.60.
  • Sam Plinke was much improved in the sprints. Her 8.96 in the 60-meter was actually faster than her time at 55-meters the previous week.

From the Coach

  • "We capitalized on the opportunity to fine-tune some things heading into our largest invitational next week at Susquehanna. We are proud of the way we competed today and are looking forward to mixing it up next week with some of the best teams in the region," Chris Benassi.
