Volleyball drops conference match at Lycoming

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. - Despite 20 kills by Elena Zinaich and 43 assists from Payton Belella, Hood College dropped a Middle Atlantic Conference Commonwealth match at Lycomng 3-1. 

Set Scores

  • The Warriors won 25-19, 18-25, 25-19, 25-17. 

Inside the Box Score

  • Zinaich had 20 kills and just two errors, finishing the match with a .450 hitting percentage. 
  • Payton Belella had a double-double, adding 10 digs to her assist total. 
  • Courtney Hutchinson had a strong match with 14 kills, hitting .312 on the evening. 
  • Renee Reus had 16 digs, while Robyn Reus finished with 10. 

How it Happened

  • After dropping the first set, Hood jumped out to a 16-6 lead in the second set. Hutchinson and Zinaich had three kills apiece during the run. 
  • The Blazers had just one attack error in the second set to hit .433 as a team and tying the match at 1-1. Over the course of the evening, the Warriors hitting consistency led Lycoming to the win. The Warriors did not hit under .250 in any set and not more than .290. 

Notes

  • Elle Jednorski finished with 12 kills.
  • Emily Hepner added 26 digs.
  • Emily Morris tallied 39 assists, while Katie Hausknecht notched five blocks.
