Hood College

Kevin Ciocco of the men's track and field team and Raphaella Henson-Vendrell from the women's track and field team are the Hood College Athletes of the Week for May 3, 2021. 

Ciocco added nearly 2.5 meters to his own school record to win the hammer throw at the Alvernia Last Chance Meet. Ciocco had the winning throw of 47.37 meters (155-5) to win by nearly four meters. He destroyed his own Hood record by 2.48 meters (8-2). Ciocco also finished second in the shot put with a throw of 11.53m (37-10). 

Henson-Vendrell finished second in the 5,000-meter run with a time of 20:31.12, just four seconds off the pace.
