ANNVILLE, Pa. - Hood College's Mackenzie Demaio was named Middle Atlantic Conference Commonwealth Defensive Player of the Week for her performance in a 15-12 win over Bridgewater (Va.) last week. 

Demaio had five ground balls and three caused turnovers in the win over the Eagles. The Blazers entered the fourth trailing 10-9, but the midfielder led the defense in the final quarter with two caused turnovers and two ground balls. 

The defensive effort was part of a stellar two-way outing for the junior. Demaio also had a team-high five goals and added three draw controls to her line.
