Christopher Smalls from the men’s basketball team and Mackenzie Rogers of the women’s indoor track and field team are the Hood College Athletes of the Week for December 9, 2019. 

Smalls was named the Middle Atlantic Conference Commonwealth Defensive Player of the Week after his performance in a 78-70 victory over Arcadia. The sophomore led the defense that held Arcadia scoreless over the final five minutes and 47 seconds of the game. He had five steals and a block in the game to go with 11 points and four rebounds. 

Rogers tied the school record in the 60-meter dash and qualified for the Middle Atlantic Conference Championships in two events to lead the Blazers at the Golden Wolves Rust Buster hosted by Alvernia University. She placed third in the 60-meter dash with a time of 8.48 and sixth in the 200-meter dash with a time of 28.09.
