FREDERICK, Md.--Hood College senior Matt Haynes won a pair of
events and freshman Chris Nemecek won one in a tri-meet with
Frostburg State University and Salisbury University Saturday at the
Huntsinger Aquatic Center.
Haynes took top honors in the 50 free (23.29) and the 100 free
(52.21) and was second in the 100 back (1:00.12).
Nemecek touched out Salisbury's Jamie Overholt by 0.02 to win the
200 free (1:55.31). He was also second in the 200 fly (2:26.49) and
fourth in the 500 free (5:51.41).
Chris Moreland was second in the 100 breast (1:08.91), the 200 IM
(2:15.03) and the 100 fly (1:00.13).
Kyle Atras placed fifth in the 1000 free (14:21.39), the 200 fly
(3:23.09) and the 200 back (3:01.83).
AJ Smith was sixth in the 1000 free (16:13.09) and the 100 breast
(1:26.69) and fifth in the 200 breast (3:11.95).
Thomas Williams finished sixth in the 200 free (3:10.17), the 50
free (34.51) and the 200 breast (3:30.86).
The 200 medley relay team of Haynes, Moreland, Nemecek and Atras
took fourth in 1:53.62.
The Blazers lost to Frostburg, 75-47, and Salsibury, 88-34.
Hood hosts its second of three home meets Saturday the 17th when
the Blazers entertain the Gallaudet University Bison in a Capital
Athletic Conference meet at 2 p.m.
