FREDERICK, Md.--Senior Matt Haynes and freshman Chris Nemecek
were both triple winners for the Hood College men's swim team (1-6,
1-4 CAC) in a 102-52 victory over Gallaudet University (0-7, 0-6
CAC) Saturday at the Huntsinger Aquatic Center.
The Blazers won eight individual events to secure their first
win of the season.
Haynes took top honors in the 1000 free (11:28.08), 50 free
(22.95) and the 100 free (52.20) while Nemecek captured the 200
free (1:57.00), 100 fly (57.19) and the 500 free (5:40.82).
Chris Moreland won the 200 IM (2:16.20) and the 100 breast
(1:09.92).
Kyle Atras swam a season-best time in the 1000 free (14:09.97)
and took third, while A.J. Smith also swam his fastest time of the
season in the 200 free (2:42.79) and Thomas Williams clocked in
with season-bests in the 50 free (33:01) and the 100 breast
(1:31.81).
Hood hosts Penn State Altoona Saturday at 2 p.m. in its final
home meet of the season.
