WASHINGTON, D.C.--Senior Erica Hamor and junior Kristen
Kucharski were both double winners for the Hood College women's
swim team (0-8, 0-5 CAC) in a 92-82 Capital Athletic Conference
setback to the Gallaudet University Bison Sunday afternoon.
Hamor took top honors in both the 1000 free (13:17.51) and the
100 breast (1:17.69) and placed second in the 200 IM (2:28.74).
Kucharski won both the 50 free (28.56) and the 100 fly (1:13.87)
and placed second in the 500 free (6:16.90).
Aleece Groom captured the 200 free (2:19.66) and was second in the
100 free (1:03.78).
Jen Graham finished third in the 1000 free (16:04.03) and fifth in
the 500 free (7:35.91).
Taryn Scafide took fourth in the 200 IM (2:56.58) and second in
the 100 back (1:18.98).
Andrea Haines finished fourth in both the 100 free (1:12.58) and
the 100 breast (1:25.42).
The 200 medley relay team of Scafide, Haines, Groom and Graham
defeated the Bison squad by nearly 27 seconds in 2:24.47.
Hood's final competition before the CAC championship is slated
for Saturday at Penn State Altoona at 1 p.m.
