FREDERICKSBURG, Va.--The Hood College women's swim team traveled
to the University of Mary Washington Friday for a double-dual with
the Eagles and the York College (Pa.) Spartans.
The 200 medley relay team of Arielle Harding, Melissa Lapham,
Katie Klosterman and Kristen Kucharski finished fourth in 2:06.16.
The Blazers' 200 free relay of Daniela Mittelkamp, Lacey Creelman,
Jennifer Givens and Andrea Haines tok third in the 2:06.87.
Klosterman also placed third in both the 200 free (2:16.66) and
the 50 free (27.44) and took fourth in the 100 free (1:01.19).
Mittelkamp captured fifth in the 200 free (2:24.60), fourth in
the 100 fly (1:12.92) and fifth in the 200 fly (2:54.00).
Creelman came in fifth in the 100 back (1:23.85), thid in the
500 free (7:12.22) and sixth in the 100 free (1:08.89).
Harding touched the wall third in the 400 IM (5:21.88) and was
second in both the 100 breast (1:13.34) and the 200 breast
(2:40.97). Her time in the 200 breast set a new school record,
breaking the previous mark by Lenore Brown (2:44.03, Jan. 15, 2005
vs. Frostburg State).
Lapham took fifth in the 100 breast (1:18.62) and sixth in the
200 breast (2:57.66).
Kucharski was fourth in the 200 fly (2:42.14), second in the 100
fly (1:11.60) and fifth in the 200 back (2:42.64).
Givens finished sixth in the 50 free (30.94).
Hood's next meet is slated for Saturday, Nov. 13, at Marymount
University at 2 p.m.
