FREDERICK, Md.--The Hood College men's tennis team (2-6)
suffered a 7-2 nonconference setback to the visiting McDaniel
College Green Terror (3-5) Tuesday afternoon at Baker Park.
Hood's lone victories on the day came at first and third
singles. Carter Reitman toppled Ben Faber, 8-2, at the first
position to improve to 4-2. David Blowe held on to defeat Steve
French, 8-6, to move to 3-0 at the No. 3 spot on the season.
Reitman and Mike Hardman dropped their first doubles match of
the year, 9-7, to Faber and Dan Hovorka. The second doubles tandem
of David and Andrew Blowe also came up just short to French and
Justin Ward, 9-7.
Hood hits the road Wednesday for a 3 p.m. Capital Athletic
Conference match at St. Mary's College (Md.). The Seahawks (10-5,
2-1 CAC) sit in third place in the league while Hood seeks its
first CAC win of the season.
