FREDERICK, Md.--Robbie Ennis and Andrew Bodine were double
winners for the Hood College men's swim team (4-4) who won their
third meet in four weeks over Gallaudet University (4-4) Saturday
at the Huntsinger Aquatics Center.
Ennis won the 50 free (23.78) and the 100 breast (1:10.95),
while Bodine was a winner in the 200 IM (2:08.80) and the 100 free
(51.91).
Connor Eliff won the 1000 free (11:35.95) and was second in the
100 fly (1:02.72), while Matt Benoit finished second in the 200
free (2:01.12).
Lucas Netter placed second in the 500 free (5:54.08) and third
in the 1000 free (12:25.19).
Kyle Atras garnered some valuable points for the Blazers by
taking fourth in both the 1000 free (14:20.04) and the 100 fly
(1:22.17) and was fifth in the 200 IM (2:53.88, season best).
Ethan Weidman captured second in the 100 breast (1:12.06, season
best) and third in the 200 free (2:06.99).
Drake Halpern was fourth in both the 100 free (1:05.25) and the
500 free (7:04.64) and finished fifth in the 200 free (2:31.78,
season best).
Carlin Rabie took second in the 100 back (1:08.39) and third in
the 50 free (24.55), while James Baker placed fourth in the 100
back (1:27.98), fifth in the 50 free (30.36) and sixth in the 100
free (1:15.35).
Chris Patschak touched the wall third in three races--the 500
free (6:11.38), the 200 IM (2:38.93) and the 100 fly (1:14.29).
The Blazers also won top honors in both relays. Rabie, Weidman,
Benoit and Netter took first in the 200 medley relay (1:56.82)
while Bodine, Benoit, Eliff and Ennis clocked a winning time of
1:36.10.
Hood's final home meet of the season is slated for next Saturday
against Penn State Altoona and Juniata at 2 p.m. at the Huntsinger
Aquatics Center. The Blazers will honor seniors Atras, Ennis and
Rabie prior to the meet.
