FREDERICK, Md.--Senior Mike Hardman and junior Carter Reitman of the Hood College men's tennis team (0-9, 0-2 CAC) both won their singles matches and combined to take the No. 1 doubles point in a 6-3 Capital Athletic Conference loss to Stevenson University (3-2, 1-0 CAC) Sunday at Baker Park.
Reitman rallied from a 6-4 deficit in the first set to capture the final two sets, 6-1, 6-4 over SU's Ted Cooke at the No. 1 singles spot. Hardman ousted Brian Bollman in straight sets, 6-3, 6-1, to improve to 5-4 on the year in singles play.
Reitman and Hardman teamed up to defeat Cooke and Bollman, 8-2, for their second doubles win of the season.
Hood continues CAC play Thursday against York College (Pa.) on the road beginning at 3:30 p.m.
