FREDERICK, Md. --The Hood College men's tennis team (1-14, 1-7 CAC) hosted visiting York College (Pa.) (12-6, 6-2 CAC) and St. Mary's College (Md.) (11-8, 6-2 CAC) in a pair of Capital Athletic Conference matchups Friday evening at Baker Park.
St. Mary's College blanked Hood, 7-0, winning all three doubles matches and four singles matches. In the first doubles matchup between Carter Reitman and Mike Hardman against Arvin Wong and Andrew Gear, Hood tool the Seahawks into a tiebreaker, eventually falling 9-8 (7-5).
Reitman and Hardman teamed up for a doubles victory against York and both Blazers won their singles matches. Hardman defeated Travis Klein when Klein defaulted at 4-2. Reitman defeated Ryan Harvey, 8-4.
Hardman evened his singles record on the season at 7-7 and improved to 3-4 against CAC opponents. Reitman upped his singles record to 3-9, which includes a 3-4 mark in league play. The duo of Reitman and Hardman also improved to 3-3 in doubles play against CAC tandems.
