Blazers Blanked by Gulls, 9-0

FREDERICK, Md.--The Hood College men's tennis team (1-10, 1-3 CAC) lost to visiting Salisbury University (12-5, 5-2 CAC) 9-0 in a Capital Athletic Conference match-up Saturday afternoon.
 
Though Hood came up shorthanded, the doubles matches were among the best played all season. Carter Reitman and Mike Hardman won four points over Daniel Barnas and Andrew Nottage and the team of Andrew Blowe and Travis Kline also tallied four points in their doubles match against Giorgio Athans and Kyle Schneck.
 
The last doubles match of the day, Hood's Chris Papinsick and Phil Yerby against Salisbury's Justin Tomchick and Paul Berryman, ended in a tie at 8-8 and the tiebreaker pushed the win in Salisbury's favor, 7-1. 
 
Today also marked Hood's senior day and the team celebrated the tenure of seniors Mike Hardman and Phil Yerby.
 
Hood hits the road tomorrow for another conference match-up. The Blazers travel to Frostburg State University, a match that was rescheduled from March 27. The action begins Sunday at 1 p.m.
