FROSTBURG, Md.--The Hood College women's swim team (3-7, 1-5
CAC) earned its first Capital Athletic Conference victory of the
season Sunday at Frostburg State University, defeating the Bobcats
113-71.
The Blazers won six individual events and one relay en route to
the triumph. Lindsay Cronin was a double winner in the 200 free
(2:29.84) and 400 free (5:14.22) while Arielle Harding, Daniela
Mittelkamp, Theresa Schwarzwalder and Hayley Rogers also took home
top honors in their respective events.
Harding won the 100 breast (1:20.98) and was second in the 100
free (1:06.53); Mittelkamp touched the wall first in the 800 free
(11:25.24) and took second in the 400 free (5:43.45); Schwarzwalder
won the 200 IM (2:49.91) and was runner-up in the 100 fly
(1:21.67); and Rogers captured the 100 back (1:16.75) and finished
second in the 50 free (28.84).
Schwarzwalder, Harding, Tairen Lamkin and Rogers swam
uncontested in the 200 medley relay in 2:18.53 for 11 more points
for Hood.
Hood next travels to Gallaudet University Saturday for a 1 p.m.
nonconference dual meet.
