WASHINGTON, D.C.--The Hood College men's swim team (4-6) won
seven individual events and set a school record in the final event
of the day in a 113-92 nonconference dual meet over the Gallaudet
University Bison Saturday afternoon.
The 200 free relay team of Alex Bodine, Andrew Bodine, Jon
Collier and Robbie Ennis were victorious in 1:32.33, setting a
school record by more than two seconds over the foursome who swam
at the 2007 Capital Athletic Conference championship (Matt Haynes,
Jason Kinder, Matt Caron, Fran Pedersen - 1:34.65).
Alex Bodine and Andrew Bodine were both double winners for the
Blazers in their individual events. Alex Bodine paced the field in
the 50 free (23.19) and the 100 back (56.65) while Andrew Bodine
won the 400 IM (4:39.96) and the 100 fly (58.37). Other winners for
the Blazers included Jon Collier in the 100 free (52.05), Connor
Eliff in the 500 free (5:29.97) and Robbie Ennis in the 100 breast
(1:07.93). Taylor Anderson finished close behind Ennis for second
in the 100 breast (1:13.34).
The Blazers wrap up the regular season next Saturday in a double
dual at Juniata College with Penn State-Altoona at 2 p.m. The
Blazers will then have three weeks to taper for their final Capital
Athletic Conference championship Feb. 17-19 at St. Mary's College
(Md.).
