GRANTHAM, Pa.--The Hood College men's swim team (5-3, 3-3 MAC)
went 1-2 in a Middle Atlantic Conferences quad meet Saturday,
defeating FDU-Florham, 200-34, but coming up short against Widener,
115-133, and Messiah, 107-154.
Alex Bodine and Michael Curry were Hood's lone winners on the
day. Bodine finished with a time of 55.28 in the 100 fly, just 0.08
seconds off the school record set by Chris Nemecek at the 2009
Capital Athletic Conference championships. Curry bested the field
in the 50 fly in a season-best 26.02.
Season bests were recorded by Lucas Netter in the 1000 free
(11:34.44, fourth) and 500 free (5:38.82, sixth); Andrew Bodine in
the 100 free (50.83, third); Jon Collier in the 100 free (52.24,
fifth); Nate Leighton in the 100 back (1:06.70, sixth); Connor
Eliff in the 100 breast (1:08.59, fourth); Thomas Farrell in the
100 breast (1:11.25, sixth) and the 50 fly (27.29, eighth); Drake
Halpern in the 100 breast (1:26.09, 11th) and the 200 IM (2:51.07,
10th) and Daniel Lee in the 500 free (5:35.51, fifth).
Hood's next scheduled meet against MAC rival Lebanon Valley
College has been postponed but will be rescheduled for a date to be
announced in January. The Blazers will next travel to King's
College (Pa.) for a MAC dual meet Saturday, Nov. 17, at 2 p.m.
