WINCHESTER, Va.--The Hood College men's tennis team (1-3) swept all three doubles matches and won five singles matches en route to a convincing 8-1 victory over nonconference rival Shenandoah University (0-2) Saturday evening.
Carter Reitman and Andrew Blowe teamed up to knock off Dustan DeMello and Vladimir Daskalov at first doubles, 8-4; Chris Papinsick and Chad Love defeated Matt Smith and Jakob Curtis, 8-2, at No. 2; and Travis Kline and Trevor Baldwin blanked Anthony Horkan and Myles Hairston, 8-0, at No. 3.
In singles action, Reitman, Kline and Papinsick all claimed straight set victories while Love and Baldwin defeated their opponents in an eight-game pro set.
Hood's next match is slated for March 3 at Capital Athletic Conference foe Salisbury University at 3 p.m.
