TOWSON, Md. - Hood College split a tri-match with Division I opponents Towson and Howard. The 202-53 win over the Bison was the program's first against Division I opposition.
Towson defeated the Blazers 231-49.
BJ Daisey (Lewes, Del./Sussex Tech) turned in a strong debut with a second place finish in the 100 breaststroke with a time of 1:02.46. The freshman was fourth in the 200 breaststroke with a final time of 2:20.52 and fifth in the 200 IM in 2:09.45.
Alex Bodine (Frederick, Md./Urbana) turned in a time of 55.61 to take third in the 100 backstroke. He notched another third place finish in the 100 butterfly with a time of 55.75.
In the 1000 freestyle, Cameron Rogers (Severn, Md./Archbishop Spalding) swam a 10:22.76 to finish fourth overall. He also took fifth in the 200 butterfly with a time of 2:20.88 and the 500 freestyle with a time of 5:05.51.
Michael Curry (Charlotte, N.C./Charlotte Catholic) swam a 1:51.29 in the 200 freestyle to finish fourth. The reigning MAC Rookie of the Year also took fourth in the 100 freestyle in 51.96.
With a time of 2:02.48, Chris Gardner (Smyrna, Del./Cab Calloway) was fifth in the 200 backstroke.
In the 50 freestyle, Lucas Mestas-Nunez (Corpus Christi, Texas/Bluff) finished third with his time of 23.61.
Hood's 200 medley relay of Gardner, Daisey, Bodine and Mestas-Nunez captured third place with its time of 1:41.41.
The 400 freestyle relay of Victor Muleki (Irving, Texas/MacArthur), Daulton Swan (Farmington, Utah/Viewmont), Jonathan Collier (Darby, Pa./Home Schooled) and Curry was fourth in 3:33.05.
The Blazers host Arcadia on October 19.
