FREDERICK, Md. – Hood won the first 13 events of the meet and eight different Blazers took part in at least one event win in a 200.5-51.5 victory over King's.
The win improved Hood to 8-1 on the year, including 7-0 against Middle Atlantic Conference rivals, and stretched the team's win streak to seven.
Alex Bodine (Frederick, Md. / Urbana), Michael Curry (Charlotte, N.C. / Charlotte Catholic) and Chris Gardner (Smyrna, Del. / Cab Calloway School of the Arts) each won three times, with Daulton Swan (Farmington, Utah / Viewmont) and BJ Daisey (Lewes, Del. / Sussex Tech) earning two wins apiece.
Bodine, Swan, and Curry teamed with Connor Eliff (Frederick, Md. / Frederick) to win the opening event of the meet, the 200-yard medley relay, in 1:42.82.
In the 100-yard backstroke, Bodine won by nearly three seconds with his time of 58.27 for his third win of the season in the event. His third victory of the afternoon came via a time of 22.56 in the 50-yard freestyle. Swan finished second in the 50 in 23.64.
Curry helped the Blazers to a pair of 1-2-3 finishes during the meet. He took the top spot in the 200-yard freestyle as the Blazers took first, second and third in the event. Curry touched the wall in 1:51.62. Lucas Mestas-Nunez (Corpus Christi, Texas / Bluff) slid past teammate Cameron Rogers (Severn, Md. / Archbishop Spalding) by just 0.48 seconds with his time of 1:55.11. Curry's win was his third of the year in the 200 free.
In the 100-yard freestyle, he swam a 51.82, with Swan finishing second in 53.01 and Alessio Mario (Mullica Hill, N.J. / Clearview Regional) in third with a 54.92.
Gardner's first win of the afternoon came in the 200-yard butterfly with a time of 2:12.54. Rogers finished second, with Jonathan Collier (Darby, Pa. / Home Schooled) claiming third in the event.
He later swam a 2:01.81 in the 200-yard backstroke for the win, with Bodine taking second place. Gardner had Hood's final win of the day, as well, swimming a season-best time of 2:07.85 in the 200-yard individual medley.
Daisey picked up his fifth 100-yard breaststroke win of his freshman campaign with a time of 1:04.29. He made it a clean sweep of the breaststroke events with a winning time of 2:20.37 in the 200.
Swan won the 100-yard butterfly with his season-best time of 56.32. Daisey was 0.48 back in second and Mestas-Nunez took third in 1:00.69.
Collier, Eliff, and Eliseo Bell-Uribe (Keizer, Ore. / McNary) took the top three places in the 1000-yard freestyle with Collier taking the victory in 11:25.21.
Rogers scored a victory in the 500-yard freestyle, his fourth win of that event this season, with a season-best time of 4:58.05.
Hood heads to the Catholic Youth Center in Wilkes-Barre, Pa. for the Diamond City Invitational hosted by King's on November 23-24.
