Rivera Earns Singles Win in 8-1 Loss to Lycoming

FREDERICK, Md.--Raymond Rivera of the Hood College men's tennis team (0-14, 0-6 Commonwealth) defeated Jordan Dubinsky in straight sets for the Blazers' lone point of the afternoon in an 8-1 Commonwealth Conference defeat at the hands of the Lycoming College Warriors (3-7, 2-4 Commonwealth) Saturday at the Hood Tennis Courts.

Rivera bested Dubinsky, 6-4, 6-2, at No. 4 for his second singles win of the season. Both of Rivera's wins this season came against Commonwealth schools.

Chad Love and Luis Cotto won a game apiece at No. 1 and No. 2, respectively, while Philip Roedig and Jamone Davis both captured four games in the second sets of their matches at No. 3 and No. 5, respectively.

Roedig and Rivera also put up a tough fight against Joe Amento and Jack Port at second doubles before bowing, 8-6.

Saturday's match marks the end of Hood's 2012-13 season.
