FREDERICK, Md. - Hood College dropped a 6-3 final to visiting Frostburg State in non-conference men's tennis.
Tyler Shuck (Frederick, Md. / Tuscarora) teamed with Anthony King (Elizabethtown, Pa. / Elizabethtown) for a doubles victory, then won in singles to account for two of the Blazers' three wins on the day.
The duo of Shuck and King outlasted Colin Christian and Arun Pant 9-7 at second doubles. Hood's third doubles pairing of Chad Love (Boonsboro, Md. / Boonsboro) and Luis Cotto (Frederick, Md. / Tuscarora) nearly gave the Blazers the advantage heading into singles action, but fell by the same score to Zawdie Coke and Dangran Zhu.
Playing at third singles, Shuck battled Christian in the day's closest match. Shuck took the first set 7-5, before Christian notched a 6-0 win to forced a third set. Shuck scored the point for his team with a 10-6 win.
Hood's other point in the match came from Raymond Rivera (Frederick, Md. / Frederick) at sixth singles. Rivera knocked off Qunqi Shen in straight sets, 6-2, 6-2. 
The Blazers wrap up a five-match homestand when Susquehanna visits Frederick at noon on September 28.
