GLENSIDE, Pa. - Hood College's Lauren Fogarty (Arnold, Md. / Broadneck) set the Lenox Pool record in the 100-yard butterfly, leading the team to a 143-115 victory over Arcadia.
Fogarty's record-breaking time of 1:02.63 in the 100 fly was her fourth win of the day.
The Blazers started the day with a first place finish in the 200-yard medley relay. Caitlin Fay (Henrico, Va. / Mills E. Godwin), Brittany Devalk (Elk River, Minn. / Elk River), Fogarty, and Anne Lessard (Natick, Mass. / Natick) finished with time of 1:58.00 for the first of Hood's nine event victories of the afternoon.
Fogarty notched another win in the 1,000-yard freestyle with a time of 11:25.72. Finishing in second place was Brittany Whitham (Fort Collins, Colo. / Resurrection Christian), turning in a time of 11:53.86.
In the 200-yard freestyle, Hood had a first place finish with Fay's time of 2:06.82, and a third place finish by Sydney Langer (Falls Church, Va. / Falls Church), five seconds later.
Lessard swam a time of 1:05.54 in the 100-yard backstroke, good for second place. Devalk had a second place finish in the 100-yard breaststroke finishing at 1:17.87, barely a second behind first place.
Fogarty touched the wall in 2:19.82 in the 200-yard butterfly, for her second win of the day. Langer finished third for the Blazers at 2:56.41.
Lessard added another win for Hood in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 26.93 and in the 100 yard freestyle at 58.81.
Theresa Schwarzwalder (Columbia, Md. / Wilde Lake) and Fay had second and third place finishes in the 200-yard backstroke, turning in times of 2:23.29 and 2:23.57, respectively.
Shannon Welch (Henderson, Nev. / Las Vegas Academy of the Arts) swam a time of 2:50.86 in the 200-yard breaststroke, putting her in first place. Devalk was the next to touch the wall at 2:51.33, placing second.
Fay's third win of the day was in the 500-yard freestyle at 5:44.38. In third place was Langer with a time of 6:00.75.
Whitham aded a third place finish with a time of 1:13.54.
In the 200-yard individual medley, Schwarzwalder finished second at 2:28.60.
Rounding out the day for the Blazers in the 200-yard freestyle relay were Welch, Schwazwalder, Langer and Whitham who placed second with a time of 1:52.50.
Hood travels to Frostburg State for a match on October 25.
