FROSTBURG, Md. - Hood College's Lauren Fogarty (Arnold, Md. / Broadneck) claimed three wins as Hood swept Frostburg State, Goucher and Stevenson in a quad meet hosted by the Bobcats.
Hood defeated the Bobcats 128-73, the Mustangs 148-36 and the Gophers 106-93.
Fogarty's first win was in the 200-meter medley relay with teammates Theresa Schwarzwalder (Columbia, Md. / Wilde Lake), Brittany Devalk (Elk River, Minn. / Elk River), and Anne Lessard (Natick, Mass. / Natick). The group finished with a time of 1:44.53, which was 36 seconds faster than the next fastest team.
She notched another win in the 200-meter individual medley with a time of 2:37.31. Schwarzwalder finished nine seconds later, for a third place finish. Fogarty's final win of the day was in the 100 butterfly, touching the wall at 1:09.80.
Lessard had her second win in the 100 backstroke turning in a time of 1:12.74 for the Blazers. Schwarzwalder was the next finisher with a time of 1:15.40.
Caitlin Fay had a second place finish in the 800 freestyle, touching the wall at 10:10.71. Brittany Whitham finished at 10:23.71, good for third place. Fay had another second place finish in the 200 free with a time of 2:20.78, five seconds ahead of Sydney Langer (Falls Church, Va. / Falls Church) who took third at 2:25.06. In the 400 free, Fay turned in a time of 4:58.36, placing second.
After taking part in Hood's field hockey match in the morning, Ashley Griffin (Littletown, Pa. / Delone Catholic) claimed second place in the 100 free, turning in a time of 1:03.72, just .02 seconds shy of first place.
Hood notched first place in the 200 freestyle relay, the final event of the day. Langer, Whitham, Marisa Pandolfo (Holbrook, N.Y. / Sachem East) and Griffin swam a time of 2:00.78 for the win.
The Blazers look to continue their win streak at Lycoming on November 1.
