GRANTHAM, Pa. - Hood College sophomore Cameron Rogers (Severn, Md. / Archbishop Spalding) remained undefeated on the season in both the 500-yard and 1,000-yard freestyle as the Blazers went 1-2 in a quad meet at Messiah.

Hood defeated FDU-Florham 146-36, but fell to the Falcons 108-96 and Widener 120-84.

Rogers opened his day with a 30-second victory in the 1,000 with a time of 10:06.50. He later won the 500 by over seven seconds with his time of 4:59.22.

Alex Bodine (Frederick, Md. / Urbana), Chris Gardner (Smyrna, Del. / Cab Calloway School of the Arts) and BJ Daisey (Lewes, Md. / Sussex Tech) also won events for Hood.

Bodine captured the victory in the 100 butterfly with his time of 53.96, nearly three seconds ahead of the runner up.

Gardner's win came in the 100 backstroke, as he edged the field by just 0.07 seconds with his time of 55.57. Earlier in the day, the sophomore was third in the 200 free in 1:52.93.

Daisey swam a 1:02.97 to win the 100 breaststroke. In the 200 individual medley, he was third with a time of 2:09.65.

The Blazers were led by Dillon Marier (Dover, Pa. / Dover) in the freestyle sprint events. The freshman was second in the 100 free with a time of 50.03 and claimed third in the 50 free in 22.45.

Both Hood relays were less than one second from the win.

Gardner, Daisey and Bodine all joined Lucas Mestas-Nunez (Corpus Christi, Texas / Bluff) on the second place 200 medley relay. The quartet was within 0.16 seconds of the win.

Marier, Mestas-Nunez, Jonathan Collier (Darby, Pa. / Home Schooled) and Bodine combined for third in the 200 free relay in 1:29.44, just half a second off the winning pace. 

Hood moved to 4-4 on the season, including 3-3 in the Middle Atlantic Conference.

The Blazers are idle until November 22-23, when they travel to Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania for the Diamond City Invitational.
