GRANTHAM, Pa. - Hood College's Lauren Fogarty (Arnold, Md. / Broadneck) picked up the team's only two wins of the afternoon, but Blazers knocked off Widener and FDU-Florham in a quad meet at Messiah.
Hood topped the Pride 121-81 and the Devils 165-22, but fell 124-74 to the host Falcons.
Fogarty won the 1,000-yard freestyle in 11:18.37 and the 200 individual medley in 2:18.33. In her third event of the year, the junior finished second by just 0.26 in the 100 butterfly with a time of 1:02.33. It broke a streak of 10 consecutive individual event wins for Fogarty.
Hood took second, third and fourth place in the 100 backstroke. Anne Lessard (Natick, Mass. / Natick) was the runner up in 1:05.70, while Theresa Schwarzwalder (Columbia, Md. / Wilde Lake) and Shannon McHale (Hauppauge, N.Y. / Hauppauge) followed in 1:06.36 and 1:06.57, respectively.
Caitlin Fay (Henrico, Va. / Mills E. Godwin) turned in a time of 5:37.00 in the 500 free to finish second.
The 200 free relay of Hayley Rogers (Sandwich, Ill. / Brunswick (Md.)), Lessard, Fay and Ashley Griffin (Littlestown, Pa. / Delone Catholic) was second by just 1.34 seconds with a time of 1:46.94.
In the 100 fly, McHale claimed third in 1:04.05.
Brittany Whitham (Fort Collins, Colo. / Resurrection Christian) was third in the 1000 free in 11:39.91.
Griffin swam a time of 57.42 in the 100 free, good for third place.
The Blazers improved to 6-2 on the season, including 4-2 in the Middle Atlantic Conference.
Hood is idle until heading to Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania on November 22-23 for the Diamond City Invitational.
