READING, Pa. - Hood College dropped a Commonwealth Conference men's tennis match at Alvernia, 7-2.

In doubles play, Richard Hershey (Boonsboro, Md. // Boonsboro) teamed with Vladislav Sluchenkov (Vladivostok, Russia / Garmonia) for his first collegiate victory. The second doubles tandem defeated Colin MacCloskey and Aaron Yuros 8-7 (7-3).

Anthony King (Elizabethtown, Pa. / Elizabethtown) scored a singles win at third singles, defeating Yuros, 6-4, 6-4. Sluchenkov battled to a third set at first singles before falling to Dennis Sult, 6-1, 2-6, 6-2.

Hood travels to Lycoming on April 12.
