READING, Pa. – Hood College notched four top finishes in a Middle Atlantic Conference loss against Albright College, 143-107.
Ashley Griffin (Littlestown, Pa. / Delone Catholic) and Lauren Fogarty (Arnold, Md. / Broadneck) each had multiple wins for the Blazers.
Griffin grabbed Hood's first win of the day in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 55.89. The sophomore claimed another first with teammates Caitlin Fay (Henrico, Va. / Mills E. Godwin), Anne Lessard (Natick, Mass. / Natick), and Fogarty in the 400 free, turning in a time of 3:56.05.
Griffin also placed second in the 200 free (2:04.37) and the 400 medley relay with help from Fay, Brittany Devalk (Elk River, Minn. / Elk River), and Shannon McHale (Hauppauge, N.Y. / Hauppauge), finishing at 4:28.96.
Fogarty had her second top finish in the 200 individual medley, finishing with a time of 2:18.98. The junior also had second place finishes in the 1000 free with a time of 11:30.86 and in the 200 fly, touching the wall at 2:21.97.
McHale notched the other first place for Hood in the 100 fly, touching the wall at 1:08.61. Lessard and Brittany Whitham (Fort Collins, Colo. / Resurrection Christian) also placed second and third with times of 1:09.39 and 1:15.37, respectively.
Devalk had a second place finish in the 100 IM, turning in a time of 2:36.15. She claimed third places in the 100 breast (1:19.21) and the 200 breast touching the wall at 2:51.87.
Lessard finished the 200 backstroke in 2:24.41, good for second place. She notched a third place in the 100 back with a time of 1:07.01.
Hayley Rogers (Henrico, Va. / Mills E. Godwin) took second in the 50 free with a time of 26.30.
Fay swam a time of 5:49.43 in the 500 free for a third place finish.
The Blazers host Wilkes on January 10 for the first home meet of the season at 1 p.m.
