MECHANICSBURG, Pa. - The Hood College women's swim team swam in a quad-meet at Messiah, featuring Widener and FDU-Florham.
The Blazers defeated FDU-Florham (137-45), but fell to both the Falcons (163-41) and Pride (141-63).
Shannon McHale (Hauppage, N.Y. / Hauppage) led the way with a second and a third place finish at the meet. The senior was second in the 100-yard backstroke in 1:04.26 and third in the 100 butterfly with a time of 1:03.65.
Briana Hand-Solomon (Dover, Del. / Dover) joined McHale in the 100 back and claimed third in 1:04.73.
Ashley Griffin (Littlestown, Pa. / Delone Catholic) was fourth in the 100 freestyle in 57.73 after earlier finishing fifth in the 50 free with a time of 26.19.
In the 1,000 free, Brittany Whitham's (Fort Collins, Colo. / Resurrection Christian) time of 11:47.89 was fourth, but just 0.27 seconds out of third.
Lauren Fogarty (Arnold, Md. / Broadneck) was fifth in the 100 individual medley, completing all four strokes in 1:06.69.
Hood travels to the Diamond City Invitational in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania on November 21-22.
