ST. MARY'S CITY, Md. - The Hood College men's tennis team fell 9-0 at St. Mary's (Md.) in non-conference play.

The two closest calls came in singles play. Richard Hershey (Boonsboro, Md. / Boonsboro) nearly forced a third set before falling to Byron Dickerson, 6-1, 7-5 at fourth singles. At second singles, Joshua Sexton (Mesa, Ariz. / Mesa) dropped a 6-4, 6-2 final to Robert Bishop.

Hood hosts Shepherd on September 25.
