Women's Swimming Picks Up First Win of 2016-17

FREDERICK, Md. - The Hood College women's swim team defeated FDU-Florham during a quad meet for the Blazers' first victory of the season. 

Scores

  • Hood defeated FDU-Florham 95-42. 
  • The Blazers fell to Widener, 151-46, and Messiah, 157-40. 

How it Happened

  • Kate Sanborn led Hood with a second place finish in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:12.43. She finished just 0.42 off the pace of Messiah's Sarah Woods. 
  • Brianna Hand-Solomon tallied a third place finish in the 100 backstroke. The sophomore recorded a time of 1:05.08. 

Notes

  • Hood is 1-6 overall and 1-4 against the Middle Atlantic Conference. 
  • FDU-Florham dropped to 0-8 and 0-4 on the year. 
  • Messiah is 3-0 overall and in the MAC to open its season. 
  • Widener has matching 5-1 records overall and in the conference.
