FREDERICK, Md. - Hood College fared well in the sprint and distance freestyle events, but McDaniel escaped with a 105-94 win.
Ernesto Evans dominated the sprint events, with Cameron Rogers following suit in the distance swims. Evans won the 50 and 100-yard free, while Rogers continued his excellence in the 500 and 1000.
How it Happened
- Evans swam a time of 21.96 to win the 50 free by nearly a second and a half over teammate Victor Muleki's second place time of 23.34. Evans then won the 100 free by over two seconds with his time of 48.69.
- Rogers ran his win streaks in the 500 and 1,000 in dual, tri and quad meets to 23 and 22, respectively. He opened the afternoon with a 27.5 second win in the 1,000 with a time of 10:11.63. Rogers later won the 500 by nearly nine seconds with the winning time of 4:57.64.
- Hood's other win of the day came in the 400 free relay. Chris Gardner, Matthew Ball, Zack Miller and Evans combined for a time of 3:27.78.
- Gardner claimed second in the 200 backstroke in 2:02.59.
- Max Riedel was third in both the 500 and 1,000 free. He swam a 10:44.40 in the 1,000 and followed with a 5:07.15 in the 500.
Notes
- The loss makes Hood's record 6-4 this year.
- McDaniel improved to 2-4.
