READING, Pa. - The Hood College men's tennis team fell 5-4 in its Middle Atlantic Conference Commonwealth opener at Albright.

The Blazers' only doubles point came from Conor Riggin (Sykesville, Md. / Century) and Tanner Ruths (Stephens City, Va. / Sherando) at third doubles. The duo outlasted Dylan Rutt and Colemann Mitchell, 8-6.

Hood won matches at fourth, fifth and sixth singles. 

Jorden Hahn (Thurmont, Md. / Catoctin) was a 6-1, 6-2 winner over Joey Olkusz at fourth singles. Riggin knocked off Rutt at fifth singles, 6-2, 6-3. Ruths, making his collegiate debut, scored a 6-1, 6-1 win against Mitchell.

Hood hosts Lynchburg on Apr. 5.
