Men's Tennis Downed by Arcadia

FREDERICK, Md. - The Hood College men's tennis team dropped a 9-0 final on Senior Day to Arcadia in a Middle Atlantic Conference Commonwealth match.

Before the start of play, the Blazers honored seniors Richard Hershey (Boonsboro, Md. / Boonsboro) and Josh Sexton (Mesa, Ariz. / Mesa) for their contributions to the program.

Hershey teamed with Joe Benton (Mechanicsburg, Pa. / Cumberland Valley) for the closest doubles score, falling 8-5 at second doubles to Vincent Voulo and John Zinzer.

Benton nearly forced a second set at third singles, but Voulo won 6-2, 7-6 (4). Alex Sexton (Mesa, Ariz. / Mesa) also came close to forcing a third set, before falling at first singles to Ishan Kulkarni 6-0, 7-5.

Josh Sexton pulled double duty on the day, competing for the men's track and field team at Gallaudet's Bison Invitational before returning to Hood for Senior Day in tennis.
